We have a great group of people making Kangaroo Coffee hop. Our Baristas pour not only a great drink, but also their hearts into their work. It’s reflected in the relationships they foster and community they create. Our Operations and Community Engagement team know the business, literally, inside and out, paying attention to all the details while leading the company forward. Together, we bring out the best in each other and those that count on us for a bit of sunshine (or caffeine) every day.

Chief Executive Officer


Doug brings nearly forty years of business leadership experience to Kangaroo Coffee in his role as Chief Executive Officer. Initially, he began his work with Kangaroo Coffee in 2015 as a consultant and assumed the CEO role in 2016.

A serial entrepreneur, he has launched and led an array of businesses, social enterprises, and not-for-profit organizations all committed to the common good. As a sustainable business consultant, he has designed strategic roadmaps, organizational models and operational platforms for a diverse array of local, regional, national and global entities.

Doug has also been integral to the founding, development and leadership of prominent national and international sustainable business associations including Business for Social Responsibility, Business Alliance for Local Living Economies and the American Sustainable Business Council. In addition he has served in leadership board positions for numerous education, environmental and social justice community organizations.

In his “free time” you’ll find him on the basketball court, golf course or best of all, goofing around with his two remarkable grandchildren while enjoying a fine cup of Kangaroo Coffee.

Operations Manager


Hannah first started at Kangaroo Coffee as a barista in 2013. Due to a love of the company, the staff, and the customers, she advanced through roles as an Assistant Manager, Store Manager, General Manager, to finally where she now serves as Operations Manager. This path has fostered her understanding of Kangaroo Coffee as a whole and continuously proves to be of great benefit to her current position.

When she is not handling the daily on-goings of Kangaroo Coffee, Hannah is exploring the world of wine, environmental science, photography, and local eateries; all the while making time for her cat, Stella.

Business Development & Community Engagement


Chase began his Kangaroo Coffee career in 2014 as a barista at the Fillmore Street location.  A year later he was promoted to Assistant Manager at the 8th Street Store. In recognition of his commitment to the company, his acquired industry knowledge and natural leadership skills, Chase was appointed as Manager of 8th Street in 2016.

Following a successful tenure as Store Manager, Chase became consumed by the call of the wild and took a leave of absence from Kangaroo Coffee to tackle the thru-hike of the legendary Appalachian Trail.  Six months and 2,200 miles later with his journey complete it was time to return to a new set of responsibilities at the company.

In the fall of 2017, Chase assumed his new role as Director of Business Development and Community Engagement, integrating his passion for sustainability and social responsibility. Today, you’ll find him representing Kangaroo Coffee in an array of capacities in and about Colorado Springs  – creating positive social impact, cultivating relationships and occasionally in the window at one of our locations serving up a Kangaroo Coffee favorite beverage to some of his original customers he first met back in 2014!

Office Manager


As Office Manager, Jessie is the first point of contact for the Kangaroo Coffee administrative and executive team. She manages a multitude of responsibilities ranging from payroll administration to human resources and whole bunch in between, including managing our social media platforms. When she isn’t running around tending to a seemingly endless series of tasks, you’ll find her in the office Monday through Thursday, 9am-5pm, where she is happy to help in any way.

New Center Point Store Manager


Cheyenne joined Kangaroo Coffee in 2016 as the Manager for New Center Point, launching her into the world of coffee and store management. Always ready for the challenge at hand and the opportunity to be creative, she leads her crew with a sensible style and entertains them with diverse musical taste, keeping New Center Point hopping all day.

She has such a love for coffee and her wonderful customer base, that she has her toddler son already interning as a barista in training!

8th Street Store Manager


Karli first started as a Barista at Kangaroo Coffee in the summer of 2017 and brings more than four years of experience in the coffee industry. A natural leader with demonstrated knowledge and accountability, Karli was promoted to the lead role of our 8th street location in early 2018. Always bringing a positive approach to her responsibilities, you can find her utilizing her barista skills keeping customers smiling and management style keeping her crew humming.

Outside of her passion for Kangaroo Coffee, Karli spends her “free time” with her husband and two dogs, Bailey and Tater.

Fillmore Street Store Manager


Grant oversees the day to day operations within the Fillmore stand, leading his team and entertaining his customers. His Kangaroo Coffee career spans more than 5 years, initially as a Barista and continually assuming increasing responsibilities to match his many talents. He also serves in the critical role as Inventory Coordinator making sure everything gets where it’s supposed to be and on time.

When he’s not at work, you’ll find him playing music and going outside to take in everything Colorado has to offer.

Information Technology Coordinator


Cory joined Kangaroo Coffee in 2016 as a Barista and has been making awesome beverages at the 8th Street location ever since.  As a man of many talents, he assumed the additional responsibility of Technical Support for the company in January of 2017. He helps to maintain the networks and hardware at each stand. He also provides insight to supervisors and managers about best practices with the hardware, how to handle certain tech challenges as they invariably arise, and comes to the rescue to restore equipment to proper function to keep technology systems humming.

When not at Kangaroo Coffee entertaining customers, his time is dedicated to being in class, tutoring, or leading club activities at Colorado Technical University where he is completing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
